Another month, another Big Whoop party.

The adorable Jack MacCarthy, star of Encounters: The Point of No Return and Auditions 10, joined Mikey onstage, but it wasn’t until later, during our BGA Q&A, that I got the real juicy details out of him.

BGA Q&A: JACK MacCARTHY

How did you come up with your porn name?

I wanted something that was boyish – hence the Jack – and a little sexy, but a last name that could be really believable. I'm half Scottish so I picked a Scottish last name. Random right?

What would your porn name be if you used the porn name formula (pet's name and the street you grew up on)?

George Dixie.

What was it like the day you walked onto your first porn set?

Surprisingly comfortable. Everyone was so nice. I think with someone new to the game they are afraid that you are going to turn right around and leave. Fantasizing about doing porn and the reality of it are two very different things.

I hear the first porn you were ever in was never released. What's up with that?

I did a shoot for someone that was somehow connected with All Worlds. I think this company would do the movie and then All Worlds would either choose to pick it up and release it or not. The answer that I got from them was that they shot the movie and were
having trouble getting someone to edit. I think more likely that it was just bad.

In Encounters 2, your character hosts a sex party. Have you ever thrown a sex party or been to one?

I have never been a host or an attendant. I think I am a bit of a prude at heart. It's easier for me to do porn and know that the guys are going to have to have sex with me no matter what. Takes the pressure off and no feelings of rejection.

You went to school for musical theater. If you had an unlimited budget to direct a musical porn flick, tell me about the porno you'd make.

I graduated from Musical theatre school in 1998. (I think) performed professionally for a while and then broke my knee which ended that portion of my life. All for the best, probably. However, making a musical porno would be highly entertaining. Maybe a musical retelling of Memoirs of Gay-sha with an all male cast and just have it get XXX when the story actually calls for it as opposed to a thin plot to get to the XXX.

You have a scene with Ben Andrews in Auditions 10. We’ve seen his cock, but what did you think of it?

It's enormously thick. It's quite amazing and I suggest that everyone try to see it up close and personal at least once.

Are you dating anyone? It seemed like there were some sparks between you and J at BGA's Big Whoop party.

I have been trying to date someone who is pretty spectacular but has trouble making time for me. We'll see where it goes. Probably nowhere. Now as far as J...It is rare that you meet someone as sweet and personable and fun as he is. The fact that he is one of the most beautiful men I have ever met, as well, is icing on the cake. I'm trying to get him to let me take him on a date.

Give me some porn star gossip.

Unfortunately, I have none. The only time that I am really involved with the porn industry is when I am shooting and it is such a surreal environment that I just try to focus on my partner and make sure they are having the best time possible. Film is all about chemistry for me. I want the fantasy to be real, at least during the shoot.

What's next for Jack MacCarthy?

Maybe school, maybe retire to Hawaii. I figure you have a very short shelf life in porn. I definitely want to have someone in my life and porn unfortunately can make that difficult. So I guess I'll enjoy my contract with Lucas Entertainment and see where the tide takes me.
