If you were at the Eighth Avenue street fair or lounging on the Chelsea Pier on Saturday, you probably met someone handing out flyers for BigGayApple.com’s “Big Whoop” relaunch party. The flyers promised porn stars, drink specials, goody bags, and lots and lots of cute gay boys. If by some cruel twist of fate you couldn’t make it, here’s a recap.

I was, of course, characteristically late for the party. But at 10:20 when I finally arrived at Pieces Bar, Big Whoop was in full swing. The tiny bar was already crowded with more gay guys than the Marc Jacobs denim sale, and many of them were wearing our signature “I Heart Gay Porn” t-shirts. The bartenders – also in “I Heart Gay Porn” shirts – were slinging $4 Big Gay Appletinis and looking damn cute doing it. I spotted porn star J., from Michael Lucas’s GayVN Award winning Dangerous Liaisons, go-go dancing in a pair of “I Heart Gay Porn” boxer shorts. Big Gay Apple’s host Mikey was prepping – i.e. knocking back a few cocktails – for his live interview with porn star Jason Dean.

I slipped into my own “I Heart Gay Porn” t-shirt, grabbed a glass of Champagne with which to toast our relaunch, and started working the room.

“Do you guys sell those t-shirts?”

“Hey, where can I get one of those t-shirts?”

“Got any more shirts?”

“Can I get a t-shirt for my sister?”

Just like at every other event I’ve attended with Big Gay Apple, the t-shirts stole the show. I can’t even remember how many people asked me about them.

I found my friend Olivia watching DirtyBoyVideo.com’s Subway Boy video playing on the TV above the bar. She looked concerned, like she was trying to figure something out.

 

“Are there going to be bananas shoved up people’s butts?” she asked.

I assured her that there would be no sex acts performed on actual pieces of fruit tonight, and that even if there were, we certainly wouldn’t use bananas. I mean, come on, we’re Big Gay Apple, not Big Gay Banana.

The real debauchery didn’t get started until Mikey and Jason Dean took the stage. The interview started out innocently enough. Mikey and Jason chit-chatted about the smut life and we got to know a little bit about the man behind the porn star. It was kinda like an episode of Oprah…if Oprah was a little twink who interviewed porn stars for a living.

Then came the audience participation. Mikey revived BGA’s Best Butt contest by offering a pair of “I Heart Gay Porn” boxers to anyone who would come on stage and show us the junk in their trunk. My buddy Charlie decided he had what it took and jumped up there next to Jason and Mikey and surprise guest Enrico Vega. When Mikey gave the word, all three slid their pants down just enough to reveal a little bit of butt crack, which was enough to make the crowd go wild. The whole place was screaming for the boys to drop trou. They behaved themselves though, and Jason waited until the backstage post-show interview to get naked.

It was a fun flirty night for all of us Big Gay Apple boys. After the show, I spotted one BGA staffer locking lips with a cutie perched on the pool table. Another, more high-profile Big Gay Apple boy couldn’t seem to tear himself away from the arms a rather studly black gentleman. And even yours truly got a little face time with a tall Aussie guy.

Yeah, our party kicked ass.
